Our Story

A real problem, not a business idea.

Hi, I'm Jaymar Anasco, the creator of JKBMSR. JKBMSR didn't begin as a startup or a business plan — it started in a small home with no electricity.

Several years ago, I purchased a very small house. There was no power available, so like many DIY enthusiasts, I decided to build my own off-grid solar system. I installed solar panels, a charge controller, an inverter, and a JK Battery Management System (JK-BMS) to power my home.

It worked beautifully.

Until one small problem turned into a year-long frustration.

The problem that started everything

Like most JK-BMS owners, I monitored my batteries using the official Bluetooth mobile app.

One day I changed phones.

When I tried connecting my new Android device, the BMS asked for the Bluetooth PIN that I had originally configured years earlier.

I couldn't remember it.

The old phone was no longer available, and without that PIN I couldn't pair a new device. My battery was working perfectly — but I had effectively lost access to monitor it.

I searched everywhere for a solution. Forums. Videos. Documentation. Open-source projects. Alternative hardware.

Some solutions required Home Assistant. Others needed MQTT brokers, Raspberry Pis, VPNs, complicated networking, or expensive hardware. A few commercial gateways existed, but they were costly and often locked into proprietary ecosystems.

None of them felt simple. None of them solved the problem the way I wanted.

So I asked myself a simple question:

"What if I could monitor my JK-BMS from anywhere in the world using nothing more than a tiny ESP32 device?"

That single question became the beginning of JKBMSR.

Building the solution I wanted

I designed a small ESP32 gateway that communicates directly with my JK-BMS and securely sends battery data to the cloud.

Now I can check my battery system wherever I am. At work. While traveling. Even when I'm hundreds of kilometers away from home.

No walking to the battery room. No opening cabinets. No relying on Bluetooth range. No wondering if everything is still running properly.

Just open the web dashboard or mobile app and my battery is there. Exactly the way I wanted it.

Why JKBMSR is different

There are many excellent open-source projects in the community, and I have tremendous respect for the people behind them. But I wanted something different.

I wanted a platform that anyone could install — even if they had no experience with Linux, Docker, Home Assistant, MQTT, or server administration. With JKBMSR:

  • Your gateway connects securely to the cloud
  • Your dashboard works from anywhere
  • No port forwarding
  • No VPN configuration
  • No server maintenance
  • No complicated setup

It simply works.

Built for the long term

Many hardware solutions become electronic waste when the hardware eventually fails. I wanted something better.

When you purchase a JKBMSR license, it belongs to you.

If your ESP32 gateway ever stops working years later, you don't need to purchase another license. Simply flash a new ESP32, activate it using your existing license, and you're back online.

That's how I believe software should work. A long-term investment — not a recurring hardware replacement.

Built by a DIY solar owner

I'm not a giant corporation. I'm not backed by venture capital.

I'm simply someone who enjoys building practical solutions to real-world problems.

Everything inside JKBMSR exists because I personally wanted it for my own solar system. Every feature is designed from the perspective of an actual battery owner who uses JK-BMS every single day.

If something doesn't make my own monitoring easier, it probably doesn't belong in the product.

Our Mission

Make professional remote monitoring for JK-BMS accessible, reliable, and effortless for everyone.

Whether you're running a small off-grid cabin, a home backup battery, an RV, a workshop, or a large energy storage system, you deserve to know what's happening with your batteries — anytime, anywhere.

Thank you

If you've chosen JKBMSR, thank you for trusting a project that started from one person's frustration and turned into a platform shared with the community.

I hope it helps you monitor your batteries with the same peace of mind it has given me.

Welcome to JKBMSR.
