JKBMSR Cloud Service is optional, and the free tier is permanent — a gateway is never locked out, deleted, or cut off for not paying. There is no one-time license and no per-device fee: flashing, re-flashing, and using the platform at the free tier cost nothing.
What changes between tiers
Every tier includes the full platform — always-on monitoring, phone alerts, history, dashboard access, and automatic updates. The only thing a paid tier changes is how often your gateway relays fresh telemetry:

Lapsing is never all-or-nothing
If a subscription lapses, isn't renewed, or is cancelled, nothing is deleted and nothing stops — that gateway's telemetry relay simply falls back to the free tier's 1-hour interval. Your historical telemetry stays visible and your gateway stays claimed. Resubscribing at any time resumes the faster interval immediately.
Billing
Subscriptions are processed by Polar.sh as merchant of record. Payments are per gateway. See the Terms of Service and Refund Policy for the details.

The standalone JKBMSR BLE app is free with no ads. It's supported by optional donations — see the donors wall at jkbmsr.com/donations.
